You better check out Day Shift (vampire movie)

Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco star in "Day Shift," a vampire hunting movie. The movie is about a blue collar working dad who wants to provide for his child's happiness. But, his mundane job at the pool in San Fernando Valley serves as a front for hunting and killing Vampires as part of an international Union of vampiric hunters.

The premise sounds exciting, but can J.J. Perry deliver on it?

Jamie Foxx and a young lady named Vampire are in a crazy action scene that opens "Day Shift". The sequence then turns into a mad fight between the two. This movie has a great deal of fun with rag-doll action scenes. It makes those scenes pop in a different way than many of the action blockbusters or Netflix movies. It's hard to not think about the old adage that "action speaks more than words". But, "Day Shift" has a unique ability to employ both dialogue and action to enhance the story and character development. Jamie Foxx's villain, the vampire, is killed. His partner has a hilarious exchange about how he thought she was going "to turn into a bat, or something". It's moments like this that help to elevate "Day Shift" above other similar movies.

Day Shift is another fun, non-serious film that I felt like I could genuinely enjoy the whole way through. I didn't have to think to much, it had great action that was original and I felt like I was enjoying watching it. I enjoyed the humor and found myself laughing quite a lot. It also drew inspiration from the brilliant vampire films Blade and Lost Boys, two of my all-time favorite films. The acting was flawless, the directing excellent and the cinematography very impressive. Day Shift, a movie that is both enjoyable and not too serious, is worth a look. It's a lot of fun.

Day Shift was a very mixed movie. While there's a lot fun action and some interesting characters (the brothers, Seth) there's also a terrible villain and a lot more mediocre characters. It appeared that there were some scenes that (click here) were not shown. Bud's neighbor behaves like she's a friend, even though she only had 3 minutes of screentime before the final scene. It seems that this helps the stronger characters shine more. The movie is enjoyable overall, but there were some things that could have been done better.

Snoop Dogg is almost gone. He's an amazing character in Day Shift. The whole movie is worth it because of him. His character is funny, and he can deliver some amazing lines. But more than that, he's just so natural in the role. He is a natural actor.
